He has never touched the English ivy, but he killed several spider plants by nibbling them down to the potting soil! Must be tasty!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-42370695619641171052008-09-10T13:45:00.000-05:002008-09-10T13:45:00.000-05:00Plants? Really? Just this morning DH woke me up with a migraine pill in his hand...he said I have been rocking back and forth since about 4AM...nice.

Going to have to try the plant thing...Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16670547751502222421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-13219098325064442392008-09-10T10:13:00.000-05:002008-09-10T10:13:00.000-05:00I think peace lily is bad for cats.Just one counte...I think peace lily is bad for cats.

Just one counter-thought: if you are allergic to mold, plants in the bedroom are a bad plan. My husband sometimes get migraines, but is allergic to mold too, so this idea wouldn't work for us.

(You don't have to see the mold for it to be an issue. If you've got a damp, living plant, it's there.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-28266308628478872602008-09-09T18:58:00.000-05:002008-09-09T18:58:00.000-05:00I just checked out JunkMale's link to the air filt...I just checked out JunkMale's link to the air filtering plants. The list includes English Ivy, which I'm pretty sure IS poisonous to cats.
The list also includes peace lilly. I'm not sure if peace lillies are poisonous to cats or not (I should probably check since we have one), but I can tell you that the cats NEVER bother it, so it must not taste very good ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-53698510258666252682008-09-09T18:56:00.000-05:002008-09-09T18:56:00.000-05:00I second the bamboo. I keep mine in a bathroom that doesn't have a window and it loves it in there (except for getting chewed on by cats, of course!).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-7638880571008051012008-09-09T18:37:00.000-05:002008-09-09T18:37:00.000-05:00Check on the pet-safe-ness of this, but a spider p...Check on the pet-safe-ness of this, but a spider plant is very hardy. You could hang it and that would make it inacessible to kitties.Kristahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11943787563074930543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-10483520271564289062008-09-09T17:29:00.000-05:002008-09-09T17:29:00.000-05:00I am not sure about the plants which are not harmf...I am not sure about the plants which are not harmful to kitties, but I do know that bamboo doesn't need much of sunlight or even don't need to be watered every day. If you're bent on getting some, you might consider putting some on wall hangers, perhaps out of reach of certain mischievous kitties.

We have at least one houseplant in every room of our house, and my wife has seen a small reduction in overall number of headaches. Here's a Wikipedia list of air filtering plants, as determined from a NASA study.JunkMalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02619673168896233941noreply@blogger.com
