They aren't going to wear them again and, really, what are the chances that their daughters would want to wear that dress. It just seems so impractical to me.
I think the idea of making something out of the dress is AWESOME! A baptismal outfit, taking the fabric and adding it as a mat to a framed wedding photo or maybe a incorporating the fabric into an heirloom quilt seem like a great way to repurpose a dress that will just sit around in a box.
~red in HoustonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-55899665227630695692011-07-14T11:37:26.221-05:002011-07-14T11:37:26.221-05:00I kept mine in hopes that someday it could actuall...I kept mine in hopes that someday it could actually be cut up and made into a baptismal outfit for our child. Hope we will someday have a child to baptize.nomehaughthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07776171785030413790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-40895488045395003812011-07-13T14:05:02.649-05:002011-07-13T14:05:02.649-05:00Oh, the dress is definitely staying! I'm just...Oh, the dress is definitely staying! I'm just lost on where it will go. It's too big to fit under a bed, unfortunately. And frankly, our bed already has stuff shoved under it! *sigh* I think we just have too much stuff.

I did buy some space bags today. Hopefully, they actually work and aren't just a gimmicky TV sell. If they actually work, they'll be great, as I have several pillows and a down comforter in need of a new space in my house. That will free up room elsewhere.Anne Marie@Married to the Empirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16600919522369171555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-45526378633217079052011-07-13T13:29:15.994-05:002011-07-13T13:29:15.994-05:00I am Roxie in Texas. You never know what might happen.

What about slipping the box under a bed? With a bed skirt on the bed the box would not show. Even under the crib; with a skirt on the crib it would not show.

Take care of yourself and do not wear yourself out too much.

See if you can find a pre school or day care to take the pep squad uniform. That would be great fun in a dress up box.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-29335386314828170542011-07-13T09:55:29.903-05:002011-07-13T09:55:29.903-05:00You don't know me, but I say keep the wedding ...You don't know me, but I say keep the wedding dress. Yes, it's huge, but you never know what the future might bring. My first child was a boy and I had a lot of trouble conceiving after that and prety much gave up on the idea of ever having a daughter to pass my girly stuff to. But through the wonder of God and the amazing knowledge He gave to my doctor, my beautiful baby girl was born 4 months ago. So you just never know. Surprises happen every day. My mom saved her wedding dress and over 40 years later I wore it at my wedding. It made the day even more special and it is something I will always remember and hold in my heart. So keep the dress. :)
GinaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
