My husband and I were married for just a few months before we went to a one-income household.

As recent college grads, it was pretty simple to live on his income, since we were so used to living in MUCH less.

If people know they want to live on one income, the sooner they do it, the sooner they'll be used to the lifestyle.

It does help if the family has a small amount of debt, too.Kaciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03068520824047487960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-63775650333164766542008-08-11T20:35:00.000-05:002008-08-11T20:35:00.000-05:00Great points. Since we are not citizens here, a loss in job has worse repurcussions for us than it would be for a citizen.

We dont have cable TV either. One major expense for us is eating out. If we were one income family, that would be a difficult one to give up because hubby really likes to eat out. I dont care for it much. We share everything when we eat out, otherwise it would never work.

Looking forward to reading the rest of your series.AnneKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13625525577717414765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9147208685448049005.post-47707850249512920592008-08-11T18:36:00.000-05:002008-08-11T18:36:00.000-05:00I like this. I love my job, but it's great to point out things we should be thinking about anyway! :) It probably wouldn't hurt us to try the "one income in a savings account" just to see if we could do it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
