Spring Fever

The weather is warm, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the cats are wailing. They want OUT. Spring calls to all creatures.

We were outside in the yard on Saturday, listening to Calvin's pathetic whines from the living-room window. Steven decided to let the boys out. They raced into the yard, sniffing the air as they went. Then they both fell onto the grass and rolled around like little maniacs.

As usual, Doogie insisted on making his pretty white fur filthy.

The boys were so happy about being outside that they both tolerated my putting an orange scarf on them to shoot pictures for the ASPCA's Pets Go Orange photo contest.

There's a certain joy that comes from watching God's creatures enjoying Creation.

Revelation 5:13
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"

Aww these are such cute pics! :-) Just out of curiosity, do you always let your cats outside? I always had indoor/outdoor cats until one of my cats was killed by a dog. :-( Ever since then I haven't let any of my cats outside. I feel bad sometimes, because I know how much kitties like exploring and hunting. Is there a way you can let them out without them taking off?

Ashley, they're outside under extreme supervision. Doogie is too scared to go exploring, but Calvin will jump the fence and roam the neighborhood if we turn away. However, Steven doesn't think he can jump the fence anymore due to his health. That may be true; I don't know.

Awww, they look so CUTE! I agree; it's great to let them enjoy nature. Bella loves hanging out on the balcony. I can't imagine how happy she'd be to roll around in grass!

Sue, I'd hate to have to clean Bella's LONG fur after a roll in the grass!
