It was created for Katie Johnson, daughter of the 501st Legion's founder Albin Johnson. Katie was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, and R2-KT was built as a special gift for her. Unfortunately, Katie lost her battle with cancer in 2005, but R2-KT is still working hard to help raise awareness of pediatric cancer and raise funds for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Children's Cancer Fund.
