It's a long story, but my dad was getting rid of a couple of his TVs, so Ruf and I became recipients of his 36" HDTV. This is a very cool thing and extremely generous of my parents.
But it looks awful in my living room. I think things would be improved if I could put it on the wall where the piano currently resides, but there's no cable outlet on that wall. So, for now, it's on the wall with the fireplace. And the bookcase that used to be there is now in the hallway. (I've already smashed into it once, and I anticipate I'll do it again before we can move it somewhere more appropriate.) My house is all topsy-turvy again because of this.
But Ruf has a giant TV, and he is happy. I'll do my best to tamp down my frustration with how my living room looks until we can get a cable thingy installed on a different wall. A happy husband is a better thing than a perfect living room. (At least, that's what I keep telling myself!)

I'm totally with you on the rearranging-messes-with-you stuff.
I mean, if I'm doing the rearranging it all works great. But if it's by necessity or b/c there's nowhere else... well, I never seem to adjust as smoothly.
