I found myself waiting at home again for tree people to show up. I had to stay home all day Thursday and Friday to wait on people to come give estimates. No one even showed up on Friday, although one was kind enough to call me and apologize for not being able to make it out. Even though Ruf cleared the fallen tree out of the yard, we still need the part that is still standing to be removed.
Poor Ruf is sick now from his weekend of hard labor. He's running a fever, aching all over, and still suffering from allergies.
To make things worse, we received a call from another youth leader telling us that a set of parents is upset about something. Ugh.
On the plus side, I spent the afternoon going from grocery store to grocery store stocking up on sale items. Let's just say that we won't be in need of any soap, hairspray, deodorant, toothpaste, cereal, crackers, etc. for a long time! It's kind of fun to match sales with coupons, even though it makes me feel a little old for finding that enjoyable.

Poor Ruf! I haven't read all the fallen tree posts, so I don't know what happened there, but I kept thinking, "I wonder if it was a ficus?" (Not sure how to spell ficus, but it's on that insurance commercial where the guy was only covered for the tree that fell on his car if that tree was a ficus. lol sorry).
Get well soon, Ruf!
