A little pick-me-up

Ordinarily, I totally scoff at people who say they need retail therapy. I think that's a really stupid term, and it strikes me as sad that people need to shop to feel better. And yet, that's exactly what I found myself doing today. I've been feeling chained to my house since I've had to wait several days for various tree companies to show up to give me estimates. Since I didn't have to wait for anyone today, I decided to get out of the house.

I actually went shopping with an objective in mind. Summer things are on clearance, and I was hoping to find a light sweater in a nice pink or pale blue to go with a certain dress I own. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find this:

Exactly my colors, fit beautifully, and at 90% off, it was only $4!

I also found a cute little sweater on sale for $12.99. I brought it home to try on with the pants I'd hoped it would go with. It just doesn't look right to me, so it will go back. It's one of those babydoll styles that are so popular right now. I think I'm a tad too *ahem* curvy to pull it off properly. I'm feeling a bit like Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie when she couldn't get her flapper beads to hang just right because her chest wasn't flat enough. Some styles just aren't meant for those of us with plenty of womanly curves.

Nice color and super price.

Many styles are not for ahem... my curves or my age. :P

Cute sweater! I do not enjoy shopping for clothes, but if I landed on What Not To Wear, it'd be a dream come true to go shopping with Stacy and Clinton!
