Bloggy Giveaways: Star Wars Cookbooks

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

This contest is now CLOSED.

It's time again for another Bloggy Giveaway Carnival! In keeping with the whole Star Wars theme, I'm giving away 2 Star Wars cookbooks! If you win you'll receive The Star Wars Cookbook and The Star Wars Cookbook II.

These books are filled with fun recipes such as Wookie Cookies, Padme Pad Thai, Forceful Frittata, Yoda Soda, Hoth Chocolate, Dark Side Salsa, Ewok Eats, Boba Fett-uccine and much, much more! The recipes are simple and kid-friendly, and they'd make for great party fare the next time you have people over to watch the greatest movies ever made. (And just in case you're confused about that, I'm talking about the original Star Wars trilogy.)

There are extra little goodies at the back of the books like stickers and a Darth Maul template for making the most frightening-looking dip you'll ever see.

To enter just leave a comment (and a way to contact you if you're not a blogger) and tell me what you like best about Star Wars. For me, it's all about ewoks and the Jedi! But I make allowances for the Empire because I love my stormtrooper husband. Opposites truly do attract.

Unfortunately, this is only for U.S. residents. I have to save my overseas-shipping dollars for sending presents to my nieces in England. I'll randomly choose the winner Sunday night.

*Edited to add: If you see deleted posts, it's nothing personal against anyone. I just deleted duplicate posts for my own benefit. I'll confuse myself come drawing time if I have to try to count over duplicate comments.

Oh my gosh! This is the cooles thing ever! I love the carnival because I discover so much stuff I didn't know!

You know, I love Star Wars, but I'm not sure what I love best...I do love the music.

Anonymous said...

My all time favorite Star Wars element has to be the noise that the light sabers make. I know kinda silly, but when I was a kid my favorite toy with the light up sword with the echo-y, whoosh-y sound. I could play with that thing for hours.

My nephews would adore these books.

Thank you for doing this giveaway.

These are GREAT!!! I have a friend i would LOVE to give these to!!!
What I like about star wars is the underlying christian message that is there...i think that is AWESOME! :) Everyone thinks i am crazy cuz chewy always freaked me out...and Darth Vader! LOL

I'm in. I love lightsaber fights from the prequels and Jedi. I also like the visual effects from Episodes IV-V-VI MUCH MUCH better than the computer graphics from I-II-III. Return of the Jedi had the best looking space battle of all time.

Meg said...

This is THE coolest thing EVER! Ahh, you made me miss my childhood Ewok Village. Its the Ewoks that draw me in.

ali said...

i love it all. especially Boba Fett

Anonymous said...

I am just all giddy here! I have that first cookbook already, isn't it great?! But not second one, so if I come up as the winner, you can do another drawing for the first one if you'd like, or choose a different winner if you'd rather give them as a set.

What do I love most about Star Wars??? Oh this is sooooo easy. ANTHONY DANIELS. He is a hoot! And not just as C3PO, I love listening to him share stories. He is so funny and so glam. And he's been there through it all. Every single movie.

But you know, actually, the best best part about Star Wars is seeing how much my husband loves it. It brings him so much joy, just like he's a kid again. It's so fun to go to different SW events with him. So many good memories, so many good fans, and good friends made at those celebrations.

Mel said...

Way cool! My kids (and my husband, too) would think I was the absolute most coolest mom if I had these to give to them!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Ohhh Ohhh Star Wars Cookbooks. *drools*

Is there anything not to like about Star Wars... except the Rebellion? As stated before, we are an Empire house. The song my husband and I left from our wedding to was the "Imperial March." (side note, we came into the reception to the Triumphal Entry from A New Hope.)

Please please please pick me :)

My favorite thing about Star Wars? The music probably.

Shannon said...

My husband is a huge Star Wars collector. We exited our wedding reception under an arch of light sabers. I had no idea these existed and would be thrilled to surprise him with them for our anniversary. What a fun prize.

My brother would LOVE THIS! Matthew, age 5, walks around the house singing the Star Wars tune and takes our red plastic flute, pretending it's a lightsaber. It's hilarios! I think Matthew would say Anikan, he even has a American Doll that we modified to make a Anikan figure! My favorite thing in Star Wars is Chewwbacca and C-3PO. They really put a little humor in to the movies. Thanks!!

Anonymous said...

My family just finished watching all 6 movies about a month ago and my kids are now rather obsessed. Our favorite thing about the series is definitely Yoda, particularly his mad light saber skillz, but also his speaking syntax. Pick me you will!

Anonymous said...

Ok, I have to enter this. You know I love Star Wars, and I have 3 boys who also love SW. And I love your blog, so I can't resist!

We used to have an indoor cat (we have 2 now, but this was a different house) and a neighbor's cat would come and visit. He'd come to the door and meow. When my cat heard him, she would run to the basement. The basement window was at driveway level and they would hang out together, him outside and her inside, all the time. :)

The Mom Jen said...

Wow, thanks for the chance! I love that the prequels were so good and didn't ruin the rest of the story!!

Nadine said...

I collect cookbooks, my youngest son would love this!

Granola said...

My family would get a good kick out of this. Boys' night consists of playing LEGOs starwars and if I could top it off with a themed treat it would be awesome. Thanks!

Shane H. said...

I love the little ewoks too! They're so adorable. Great giveaway. Thanks.

Bonita said...

Honestly, I've never made it through an entire Star Wars movie. Just not my thing. But my 13 year old budding chef absolutely loves those movies and I bet she would feel the same about these cookbooks!

Awesome Mom said...

I heart light sabers! I wish I could have one. I actually got asked to leave a toy store when a friend and I were play fighting with some toy light sabers. It was a blast.

Anonymous said...

OOOOOH MY GOOOOODNESS!!!! I never knew these books existed!!! My husband is a HUGE Star Wars fan (as am I) and he would freak out over these books!!!!! Even if I don't win I'll head on over to Ebay to see if I can find them. These are a MUST have!!! THANKS!!!

I can be reached at the link attached to my name. THANKS!

Betsy said...

Cool cookbooks! I like the storyline...the whole light vs dark and that the light obviously wins!

Jenna said...

For me it was definitely the ewoks (man did I want one for a friend/pet growing up)! My husband is a fan of the whole series so he would really enjoy these cookbooks.

What a neat giveaway! I've never seen these books before. I love the way my husband and 5 year old have bonded over these movies. They really are timeless classics. DH and I were camp counselors in high school and his camp name was Ewok. These books may get my DS to want to help in the kitchen!

Unknown said...

My favorite thing about Star Wars is watching my kids enjoy it just as much as I did growing up!

Kathleen W. said...

I've never seen these! The best thing about Star Wars is Darth Vader and his back story. I even have The Imperial March ringtone!

Unknown said...

OH MY GOSH! My son would FLIP OUT if we had these cookbooks! He is only 5, and he asked for a Star Wars coffee-table type book for his birthday. He can't read yet, so guess what I've spent the past 2 months reading EVERY NIGHT?! (we read one page a day) Now we've moved on to the Star Wars Encyclopedia. I kid you not-that is our bedtime story!

I love the Ewoks too! And maybe the love story...

Anonymous said...

As a wife/mother who was dragged to the Star Wars Convention in Los Angeles, I think this would be a great inspiration for my hubby to do more cooking! My son started humming Star Wars theme music before his second birthday. I just love that it is so universal that anyone could get into it!

Is it a cop-out to say I love Star Wars because it makes me think of my husband? He was definitely waiting in line for days to see the prequels. In fact, when I recently broke my foot and was forced to wear a boot for a month, he said the bright side was that it looked like a storm trooper's boot. I didn't really see that as a "bright side"...

MomOnTheEdge said...

Too cute! What I like best about Star Wars is that it keeps my BIL and hubby entertained for long periods of time.

Tammy said...

Oh my goodness I have never seen these before, and if I should not win (I'm gonna win, I'm gonna win), this fantastic contest, then I will actually have to buy these. My daughter may actually want to do "HomeEc" in our homeschool if we use these books.
When our daughter's (who will be 12 tomorrow)only request for a Christmas gift when she was 8, was a Lightsaber, you know we have serious issues with this movie in our home.
My personal favorite thing about Star Wars - the relationship between Han and Leia so much like my husband and I, but honestly it is the other way around, he will say "I love you" I will respond "I know". Hee hee.
(I think my husband has an unnatural attachment to Twi'leks too.

I LOVE Star Wars and have since I was a kid. I couldn't wait till my sons were old enough to watch the movies and now they've seen the original three and love them too. My favorite one is Return of the Jedi.

My boys love to cook and bake with me already so these cool cookbooks would only add to our fun together in the kitchen!

Anonymous said...

I love the ewoks, wookie and Hans Solo. :) This might be a great way to get my Star Wars loving, picky eater son to eat more of a variety. :)

Anonymous said...

Wow, that's got to be one of the most unique giveaways I've seen so far! I'm a big Star Wars fan myself, but not quite as much as you I think. I love the original Star Wars because it's SO funny, and great to quote. I'd LOVE to win these books. Thanks for the out of this world giveaway. :-)

I remember the very first time I watched Star Wars. I was 12 years old and before we watched them my father (who is a fan as well!) explained that they were basically about good fighting against evil. I have loved the movies ever since... but really, I guess my favorite thing about them is all the fun memories wrapped up in watching them with family.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Star Wars Rocks! I don't know what my favorite thing is. I always loved Luke in the older ones, but hey, lets face it, Anikan was quite a hottie in the newer ones..LOL!

The ewoks are my favorite as well. I feel gratified when I see my 3 year old son play with my vintage Ewok village toys.

mom2boys said...

We love Star Wars! I admit we have never seen the cookbooks. We would love to give them a new home. Thanks!

PS said...

I've never seen the cookbooks but they look great! WOW! I love the movies, we let our kids watch the older ones, because the violence is really not to graphic and its kind of kitchy. The newer ones are a little scarier. They love the Jawas, and after their baths, love to run around pretending to be Jawas in their little hooded towels!

I'll admit, I'm not the Star Wars lover in my house. But I love watching it with my Hubby 'cause he explains who everyone is and what action figures he had, like he's 10 again.

Oh my goodness! I found you through the giveaway site, and I must say, reading your profile description, we must have been separated at birth! But seriously, my husband is a Star Wars fanatic (although he likes his Jedi robes the best), I'm a Christian, I love cats, and I'm a teacher. And of course I think ewoks are adorable. As for my favorite part of SW, I would have to say the ewoks...although the jawas and R2 are pretty cute too. I have bookmarked your blog and will be back soon!

My favorite thing about Star Wars is Harrison Ford, my favorite "crush" actor (and how he honestly thinks Leia loves Luke instead of him???). But I also like the memory I have of my now-husband and I going to see Star Wars Episode I when we were dating. I was watching it on TV just this weekend, and realized oh my goodness - that movie is getting to be on the "old" side, for movies at least, and here I am about to celebrate my 8th wedding anniversary!

Oh my! My kids are beside themselves--they LOVE Star Wars and we've borrowed these from our library. They would love to own our very own copies!

What I love about Star Wars is that even though the first movies were made when I was a kid, they are still very enjoyable today, and there's a whole Star Wars "universe" that is incredibly interesting and rich. Plus, these are movies that for the most part, our whole family can enjoy together.

Thanks for the contest, and have a great weekend! May the Force be with you, and all that!

Since your husband is in the 501st, will you be going to the Disney Star Wars Week-ends here in Florida? Wicket, Warwick Davis, is the celebrity host for all 4 weekends. I plan to be marching as a Tie Pilot all 4 weekends. If I win I will make Wookiee Cookies for the other marchers. (Is the main ingredient wookiees? Haa Haa Just kidding.) If we win contact me through the 501st website members look up.
