WFMW: Cleaning the bathtub drain

I have long hair, so I'm frequently having to clean hair out of the drain in my tub. I know; it's gross. I found that the easiest way to do this is with tweezers. They reach down into narrow spots my fingers can't reach and can grab that slippery, soap-laden hair. This makes cleaning the drain so easy!

I have a little cup thingy with holes to prevent hairs from going down there. But, it occurs to me now, I should do this too!

Ohhh, I have this problem too. Yuck Yuck I had cleaning this out. I usually put on rubber gloves, but will try the tweezers.

Oh yuck! I have long hair too and that is one of my least favorite things to clean. I'll try this, thanks. :) Ann'RE

Great tip! I usually use bobby pins (and then throw them away--gross!) but may try tweezers next time (and then throw them away--expensive!) Love your blog name! The kiddos are watching The Empire Strikes Back right now!

Sahmmy, you don't need to throw away the tweezers. Just sanitize them. It's very quick and easy to do.

Tweezers! Clever idea.

I can't touch hair in the drain: it makes me gag, hard. I make my husband do it.

That works for me!

I like your blog, I use the same template.
I have also used crochet hook to clean out the hair, & it is gross but a must do it you want an open drain... Thanks

This is a great idea! I'll have to pass it along to Mr. Brownstone. He is the official owner of this job!

You really should buy one of those hair traps. It saves a lot of grossness.

Hair in the drain makes me gag too, but I can kind of do it if I put my hand inside a plastic bag, pick up the hair and quickly turn the bag inside out. That way I don't have to look at it too much!

We're having those hair catching cups too. We need it with two girls with very long hair.

If needed I can turn open the drain and remove the filth.
I don't like the job, but it keeps the water streaming.

I use a bag which I turn inside out.
